Run run as fast as you can....

Day three................

We decided to get out of Cooma as soon as possible. We were planning with the slightly delusional hope that the weather would improve when we got into Victoria.

We headed to Jindabyne for some breakfast. Had a great bacon & egg roll and a choccy milkshake (I'm on holidays!!) and braved the rain to take a couple of wet, foggy photos of Lake Jindabyne.

Ray was brave enough (especially as I packed his weather proof jacket against his better judgement) to walk through the park in Jindabyne to photograph this statue of Sir Paul Strezelecki who was an explorer and a scientist and contributed greatly to the development of Australia - well that's what the plaque says anyway.

Although it's not very clear in this photo, this river is a raging torrent. Every creek and river we passed was the same

There were some hauntingly beautiful scenes, but I don't have a sophisticated camera, so in the wet I wasn't able to really do them justice.

We stopped in Corryong briefly to get some advice on the best way forward and look who we found!!!!!! It's the Man from Snow River!!

We kept travelling and had a few hairy moments with water over the road, but finally made it to Bright. I'm sad that we missed Yackandandah, but the road was closed due to flooding.

As I write it is not raining, but I'm guessing that holding my breathing in the hope it won't start again wouldn't be wise.............

Ah well - we are high and dry and there's a few people out there tonight who can't say the same thing. We are safe and dry - and making sure that adventure precedes dementia!!
